Abstract

With the prevalence of diseases such as heart failure (HF) as the main cause of population mortis and the fundamental existence of incompatibility between supply and demand of organs for heart transplantation, mechanical circulation support devices, are used as an alternative to improve circulation of blood in the body with a heart pump, more commonly called a ventricular assist device (VAD), has been shown to be an important option for the treatment of CVDs. However various challenges still need to be overcome in the use of these devices, of engineering, or even challenges related to inadequate information in a timely manner for medical decision making. In addition, how these devices are adjusted to the physical requirements and different physiological characteristics of each patient. However, as all weight has its counterbalance, for the universal balance, the presence more and more marked of technological changes, especially about information technology (IT), the presence of intelligent products; resulting from advances in microelectronics; the Internet of Things (IoT) and the use of the Internet as a communication platform, provide an opportune tool to create an intelligent
system with predictive interaction in medical decisions in patients with VAD. This article drives the use of these technologies; of which it is already observed its use in solutions in Health 4.0; to propose a new intelligent environment to support medical decisions in patients with VAD implanted.
